Big Body Soul 01: Lee Fields & the Expressions

Big Body Soul. If I had a throwback Lincoln or Cadillac, I’d be riding to soul music, and the new Lee Fields would definitely be in rotation. The great Oliver Wang did a piece on Lee Fields a couple years ago where he does a great job of putting Lee’s 40 year career in context (available here). He and the Expressions have a new album out on Truth & Soul records and a handful of 45’s as well that I highly recommend.
Check this live recording from the patio at Joe’s Crab Shack over looking town lake here in Austin after his SXSW marathon: Lee Fields Early Morning Soul.
Here is the latest single from his new album “Faithful Man”, ‘You’re the Kind of Girl’.
