Guest on San Antonio’s Diggin’ Deep Soul Shakedown Show

So this past weekend I was in San Antonio for a friday night gig at Saluté International Bar. To minimize my load (crates) i decided to take a box of 45’s and a small stack of 12 inches instead of a couple of 50 pound crates which are typical for a 4 hour set. Gig was real cool and shout to everybody out there! On Saturday I was a guest on JJ Lopez’s Diggin Deep Soul Shakedown show on KRTU, Jazz for San Antonio 91.7 FM. JJ is a member of the Super Soul Shakedown crew (JJ Lopez, Scuba Gooding Sr., and Donnie Dee). They have a great vibe going down in San Antonio look these boys up if you want to get down!!

JJ hit me up and asked me if I wanted to play some 45’s on his show, so i went through my box from the previous night’s gig and here it is:

1st hour of the show:

2nd hour of the show:

The first hour includes JJ’s selections and the 2nd hour has mine. Tracks from Dr. John, Jimmy Sabater, Kings Go Forth, Sam Hawkins, the Soul Drifters, Willie Bobo, Otis Redding, Mongo Santamaria, and the sleeper pick of the set Manny Perez’ y Los Cachiros’ Es Lupe, a remake of Hang on Sloopy with a South Texas Flare!
